Our speaker is Clive Bowery and he will be talking about the actions of 8 DLI at Boetleers Farm and Gravenstafel Ridge during the Second Ypres.
Having only been in Belgium a few days the battalion was thrust into action in this desperate battle and suffered heavy losses.
The battalion’s actions here would, as with most battalions have been recorded in a few paragraphs in the war diary.
However due to an enquiry into the battalions actions at Boetleers Farm a unique record has been preserved that shows what actually happened in great detail.
