On Saturday the 3rd Battalion of the Rifles were granted the freedom of the borough of Hartlepool. The event took place in victory square in the town where the band, regulars, reservists and cadets assembled for the ceremony. After the inspections and formal part of the occasion the Rifles exercised their right by marching around the main shopping complex.
