DLI Friends

The DLI Friends is a Society run for and by people who support the purpose and work of with the DLI Collection. There has never been a more exciting time to become involved with the DLI  Friends.
The new Curator is embarking upon an ambitious programme of development which will tell the story of the Durham soldier from his earliest military service to his current role ‘The Golden Thread’.
The establishment and history of the DLI soldier will be able to be seen in the context of what went before and what followed – service with The Light Infantry and The Rifles.
With your support the Friends will help to safeguard the heritage of the Durham soldier and the values for which he fought and died.

 The Durham Bugle (now defunct)

The Durham Bugle was the magazine of The Society of Friends of the DLI Collection. It was first published in September 2000 and is produced twice a year by a small, dedicated team working from the Light Infantry Office in Durham.
The Durham Bugle's editor was Donald McDonald.
Many of the Bugle's articles were written by ex-service personnel and there are strong links with the DLI Association and DLI Association branch details are shown in the Bugle.
The Durham Bugle was available through the DLI Association branches or by subscription.
