Help: Surviving members 16 Btn DLI

We have had a request from a reader who is researching his grandfather who served in 16 Btn.

Details:

L/Sgt George Ferrell (from Ashington)

D Co, 16 Btn

Died of wounds 12/10/43, following an ambush by a German fighting patrol, having crossed  the Regni Lagni Canal, prior to the crossing of the Volturno. (He gets a mention in the Heat of Battle).
