The Morant Diaries
Our speaker is Gill Parkes from the Durham County Record Office and she will be talking about Brigadier General Morant who served as Commanding Officer of the 10th Battalion Durham Light Infantry throughout the Great War, serving with distinction.
He kept diaries of his time with 10 DLI and they were recently purchased at auction.
Gill be giving a talk about these remarkable diaries which give life to the official ‘dry’ pages of history that tell the story of 10 DLI in the Great War.
A small buffet is included.
