Through Galina International Travel the Association has organized a short tour of Normandy from the 5th of June to the 8th of June 2014. The specific reason for the tour which includes a visit to Gold beach on the 70th Anniversary of the D Day Landings is to  erect a Memorial Plaque on the site where two soldiers of the Regiment where shot by the SS when they were taken prisoner. There are only 40 places on the tour and it is hoped that all branches of the Association will be represented.

A well as the dedication ceremony there will be visits to Tilly sur Seulles, Lingevres and St Pierre following the route of 151 Brigade after the landings on 6 June 1944. The cost is £319.00 per person which may well be subsidized further. Accommodation has been reserved at the Great Western 3* Hotel de la Place at Lisieux. A deposit of £50 is required with the application form which can be obtained from The Secretary at The Rifles Durham Office, Elvet Waterside, Durham DH1 3BW, telephone 0191 3865496.
