Rob Cairns a Director of the Cassop Victoria Inn at Front Street
North Cassop, Co. Durham has graciously donated the following items
which are to be sold or auctioned with the proceeds being donated to
the Durham Light Infantry Memorial Appeal.
- A framed Arran Cricket Sweater formerly the property of
Michael Atherton, the former Lancashire & England cricket
Captain. The sweater has the letters “L C C C” on the body
Of the sweater and the name M. Atherton on the left breast.
The neck of the sweater bears the county colours of
Lancashire.
- A CRICKET BAT signed by the Australian & England
Cricket teams, year unknown but amongst the signatures
which are readable are those of Michael Atherton
for England and Glen McGrath for Australia.
